"A report by Metro, the regional government, estimates that 224,000 to 301,500 more houses, apartments and condominiums will be needed in Multnomah, Washington and Clackamas counties by 2030.
Metro's Urban Growth Report, to be publicly released Tuesday, doesn't attempt to say where all those homes will be built. Instead, Metro councilors and other elected officials are quick to say the housing needs estimate provides an opportunity for a regional debate about how we grow and how we pay for it."
