The small town of Isafjordur, Iceland is hoping an optical illusion painted onto a street will work to slow down drivers.
A series of what appear to be hovering blocks have been painted at a three-way intersection in the town of Isafjordur, Iceland in a bid to reduce traffic speeds. Birgir Olgeirsson writes in Visir (in Icelandic) that the painted illusion is similar to an idea from New Delhi, India, where a floating zebra stripe crossing painted across a street has resulted in slower speeds.
