Earlier this month, Downtown STL Inc. launched free on-demand transportation service (also sometimes called microtransit) around Downtown St. Louis.

Bryce Gray reports that the pilot project makes use of electric cabs—eCabs—from the Austin-based company, Electric Cab of North America. "The service territory will range roughly from the Mississippi River to 18th Street and from Cass Avenue to Highway 40 (Interstate 64)," adds Gray.

Additional coverage on the St. Louis microtransit pilot project is also available from Josh Cohen for Next City.
