Diana Lu reports that the Philadelphia Design District will celebrate its official opening on April 13, "with a launch party and curated exhibit featuring products from members of the nascent collective of independent design businesses in Old City."

"The design district spans Old City, from Second and Third Streets to Market and Race, and its member organization say their goal is to bring more visitors and businesses to the thriving indy design hub through public events and campaigns," according to Lu.

An article by Taylor Barker from March 2018 provides more background on the organizations and thinking behind the Philadelphia Design District, as does another article by Kenneth Hilario that is probably behind a paywall for most readers.
