Lyft has announced a plan to offset carbon emissions generated by its rides.

"Taking a Lyft is about to be a little easier on the planet—and on the conscience," according to an article by Robinson Meyer.
"The ride-hailing service announced that starting this week it will go carbon-neutral," reports Meyer. "Lyft will actively offset the carbon-dioxide pollution produced by its more than 10 million rides worldwide each week."
According to Meyer, Lyft is the first major transportation network company to announce a carbon neutrality program.
