Connecthings, a transit app for the blind, is undergoing a trial that will connect its information to the popular wayfinding App BlindSquare in an Austin trial.

Some new technologies allow for better access and information for vision-impaired public transit riders. "The Connecthings system utilizes beacon technology to give visually impaired riders more up-to-date transit information," Patrick Sisson writes for Curbed.
The company launched a trial in Austin that requires users to download the already widely used Blindsquare wayfinding app. The reason that users would be best served having all the info they need for wayfinding and transit in one place. "The Connecthings pilot program launched March 12, and ends later this month, but the developers will be applying what they learn to other projects," Sisson reports.
