Sound Transit is hard at work with a busy planning schedule for several light rail projects in the Tacoma area. A post on The Urbanist focuses on the scoping project for the Tacoma Dome Link extension.

Sound Transit has begun planning for an eventual light rail extension from Federal Way to the Tacoma Dome District—a project with an expected completion date of 2030.
"Sound Transit has developed a 9.7-mile representative project alignment that would primarily hug the I-5 right-of-way with elevated rail," according to an article by Stephen Fesler. "Four stations are planned to be added to the mainline Link network through the extension at South Federal Way, Fife, East Tacoma, and Tacoma Dome Station."
Sound Transit is seeking public feedback on the representative project proposal—the public has already been providing comments on an interactive map. Fesler breaks down some of the ideas and response that have come up so far in response to the proposed alignment and station configurations.
