Meet the 'Zero-Carbon' Natural Gas Power Plant

David Roberts reports on the Net Power natural gas power plant located in LaPorte, Texas, which recently began producing power while capturing its own carbon emissions.

According to Roberts, the carbon capture process happens, "not in a separate, expensive, power-intensive process like conventional carbon-capture facilities, but as part of the combustion cycle."

According to Roberts, the technological innovation of the Net Power plant equals "zero-carbon natural gas." The plant also produces zero air pollution. As such, the technology, "would be an excellent complement to renewable energy and a cleaner path for countries now planning for more fossil fuel use. It would change carbon capture from something expensive, burdensome, and inessential to something integral to power plants."
