The Westside Park at Bellwood Quarry could eventually become the city of Atlanta's largest park.

The city of Atlanta broke ground on the Westside Park at Bellwood Quarry, which will become the city's largest park if fully realized.
In total, the park could eventually cover 280 acres and include a 2 billion-gallon reservoir of emergency water supply.
"The project’s first phase will include tidying up the site, completing survey work, addressing quarry access, and, among other things, restoring Grove Park Place, an overgrown residential area abutting the future park," according to an article by Sean Keenan.
Keenan's coverage includes details and renderings of Quarry Yards, which will add 70 acres of mixed-use development nearby.
For more design details of the Westside Park at Bellevue Park, see earlier coverage from Michael Kahn, timed to the release of the most current renderings of the park plans.
