David Rosow and Michael Ward write of YIMBYs and NIMBYs in a new satirical post for McSweeney's. Their purpose: to imagine some of the potential acronyms if property owners and housing advocates were able to find some middle ground.
The idea starts simply enough, with MIMBY, for "Maybe In MY Backyard," before taking a bit of a conceptual and literal turn with TAFSA, for "Try Again A Few Streets Away."
Before long we're talking about POOFY, for "Possibly On Our Front Yard," and ACTUALLY, for "Also, Consider Trying To Use A Little Less Yard."
