Vancouver Launching its First Citywide Plan Since 1928

The Vancouver City Council decided to launch a new housing vision for the British Columbia city. Planners will have their work cut out for them balancing all the stakeholders in the expensive city.

Vancouver will launch a new citywide planning process to map out the city's vision for housing.

According to an article by Jen St. Denis, the city hasn't had a new city plan since 1928, when Harland Bartholomew completed "A Plan for the City of Vancouver, British Columbia, including a General Plan of the Region."

St. Denis also notes pro-development and tenants rights organizations mobilizing to influence the process.
