It was a big week for long-awaited transit funding from the Federal Transit Administration.

The same week that the Federal Transit Administration sent long-awaited funding to public transit projects in Los Angeles and the Twin Cities, news broke that projects in Dallas, San Diego, and Tempe had also received the funding promised by Congress in March.
- The San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) received $80 million for the San Diego Mid-Coast Light Rail project.
- Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) received $60.76 million for its Red and Blue Line Platform Extensions project.
- Valley Metro received $70.5 million Tempe Streetcar project.
"The new round of FY 2018 funding comes from the CIG program, which helps with large-scale, capital-intensive transit projects," according to an article by Katie Pyzyk. More details are available in a press release from the Federal Transit Administration.
