Linking Uber and transit is an attempt to bridge the first-and-last-mile issue for Denver users.

Patrick Sisson reports on a new "Transit" feature through the Uber app that lets travelers purchase and use transit tickets on the Denver Regional Transportation District network. The addition to the app will help riders more easily coordinate transit and ride-hailing services.
"Trip planning with transit already exists—Lyft offers directions to scooters and transit stations in Los Angeles, for example, part of its bid to increase multimodal transit options and decrease personal car ownership—but Uber’s bid to combine planning and routing with ticketing will be a first for a U.S. city," writes Sisson.
Uber has already started working with transit agencies in cities outside of the United States. Sisson says the partnership with RTD in Denver reflects the company’s move to work more directly with cities and agencies to provide comprehensive transportation options.
