President Trump has finally acted to fill the seat vacated by former Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke.

The Associated Press reports that President Trump will name David Bernhardt to run the Department of the Interior. Bernhardt has been interim head of the department since serving as a deputy under the previous secretary, Ryan Zinke.
Zinke resigned in December 2018, plagued by scandal. Bernhardt was a controversial pick as number two in the department back to the time of his appointment in 2017, given his history as a lobbyist for several oil and gas companies.
Umair Ifran provides complete coverage of Bernhardt's background.
