Lyft announced earlier this month that it is moving forward with its Green Cities Initiative by bringing more clean vehicles on to its platform. The "Green Mode" feature, debuting in Seattle, will let riders select hybrids and EVs.

In addition, Lyft plans to add EVs as it expands its Express Drive program, which lets drivers rent vehicles. Lyft says the lower fuel costs of the EVs along with unlimited charging will help drivers save money.

"The San Francisco–based company also recently launched Lyft scooters, acquired bike-share service Motivate and integrated public transit routes into select cities' digital maps," adds Emma Loewe.
