Rome's Spanish Steps are no longer a place for sitting.
Dolores Hinckley reports that Roman authorities are enforcing an ordinance that took effect last month that prohibits people from sitting, eating, and drinking on the Spanish Steps, a popular place to hang out, a practice made all the more famous by the 1953 film Roman Holliday.
The ordinance also bans sitting, eating, and drinking in other famous locations around the city, like the Trevi Fountain.
