An exposé published by Bloomberg reveals the details of the land owner by the nation's 100 largest property owners.

"The 100 largest owners of private property in the U.S., newcomers and old-timers together, have 40 million acres, or approximately 2% of the country’s land mass, according to data from the Land Report and reporting by Bloomberg News," according to this article by Dave Merrill, Devon Pendleton, Sophie Alexander, Jeremy C.F. Lin and Andre Tartar.

Like with other manifestations of wealth inequality, when it comes to land, the rich are getting richer. "Ten years ago, the top 100 had fewer than 30 million acres."
