"[The City Council] City Council jabbed both elbows into the Bengals’ side Wednesday afternoon, approving two separate motions that could permanently stall a riverside land deal to build a concert venue at the Banks," reports WCPO Cincinnati.

"The first, which passed 6-3, requests that the team loosen its grip on the project, relinquish its right to dictate the outcome of construction near Paul Brown Stadium and stop demanding the relocation of Hilltop, a nearby gravel business, for the sake of tailgate space," according to the article.

"Council unanimously approved the second, which indicated the city would not allow Hilltop to move to Lower Price Hill or Queensgate as previously projected," adds the article.

In a nutshell, the city and county is asserting control of the deal to add the concert venue and to determine where the gravel business will land when all is said and done.

The concert venue is being pitched as a potential draw to the Banks in Cincinnati, which has been plagued by high turnover of businesses despite its riverfront location and proximity to the stadium of an NFL franchise. An additional article by Sharon Coolidge provides additional details on the proposed concert venue development, which is intended to attract top-40 musicians to the city.
