Alissa Walker gathered a coterie of experts on the various concerns of suburban development to create a new manifesto for the future of suburbia. The intellectual exercise proceeds from the dynamics of change in suburbia. The question is how to harness that change for the good of suburbs and the world.

The eight big ideas presented by the experts are organized as follows: walking, emissions, aging, lawns, land use, poverty, schools, and economic opportunity.
