Two new high-rise residential buildings in Evanston, Illinois have added a glut of supply to the downtown market.

"Two new high rise residences — the Albion on Sherman Ave. and The LINK Evanston on Emerson St. — have recently finished construction," reports Genevieve Bookwalter.
"The two completed projects mean hundreds of residential units in downtown Evanston are about to welcome new occupants, something city officials hope will lead to more shoppers and diners for local businesses," according to Bookwalter. "The LINK Evanston at 811 Emerson St. is already close to full occupancy."
Mayor Steve Hagerty is cited in the article noting that the developers for the projects contributed $2.4 million to the city’s Affordable Housing Fund.
