HUD's Latest Homeless Report Counts Increasing Homelessness

The federal government blamed California for the increasing number of people living in homelessness in the United States.

A report by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) counted homelessness on one night in January 2019, and found a 2.7 percent increase in the number of people living on the streets.

It's the third consecutive increase of homelessness counted by HUD, which blamed the nation's increase entirely on the 16.7 percent increase in homelessness counted in the state of California.
