The spread of the coronavirus has delayed one of the most closely watched planning projects in North America.

"Waterfront Toronto has extended the deadline for a decision on whether to move ahead with Sidewalk Labs’ smart city development proposal until June due to the coronavirus pandemic," reports Sarah Wray.
"The decision has been rescheduled several times," adds Wray. "Most recently, a vote on the controversial initiative was due in March but in January it was announced this would be delayed to May to allow more time for assessment and public consultation. The decision is now scheduled for June 25." The delays follow initial support for most of the project by a six-member Waterfront Toronto evaluation committee in February.
More delays on the questions prompting the delays previous to the coronavirus are included in the source article.
