In an effort to increase neighborhood connectivity with the developments, plans are being made for green space at the intersection of MLK and Reading Roads.

"Surrounding the high-tech office buildings and innovative thinking in the Uptown Corridor will be plenty of greenspace, especially on the northeast corner of Martin Luther King and Reading roads. Plans are being unveiled for what's called the Innovation Greenway," reports Ann Thompson.
In 2022, construction will begin to transform the MLK interchange adjacent properties into a multi-acre greenspace. UCI President Beth Robinson considers the planned trails, park, and recreational space to be part of a larger project to facilitate increase connectivity between the developments and the surrounding neighborhoods.
"Uptown Consortium, Inc., a non-profit community development organization, began planning when the MLK interchange at I-71 was announced," writes Thompson.
Executive Director of the Avondale Development Corporation Russell Hairston hopes Innovation Greenway will break down barriers between Uptown neighborhoods and the Wasson Way trail and hopes the project will include art and eventually offer an entrepreneurship program.
According to Thompson, "UCI has just received a $25,000 grant from the Greater Cincinnati Foundation to continue its planning and design efforts for the project."
