A small token of gratitude to the veterans who fought to protect the freedoms of the United States, and the families who sacrificed everything.

"Beginning on Veterans Day this Wednesday, U.S. veterans and Gold Star families will gain lifetime access to America’s national parks, wildlife refuges and other public federal lands," reports Shannon McMahon.
The news was announced in a release by the National Park Service.
"The program waives standard entry fees to about 2,000 public locations across the United States, many of which have historical connections to the U.S. military," according to McMahon.
The America the Beautiful Pass, which will now be available for free to veterans and Gold Star families, already makes entrance to national parks to active-duty military and their dependent family members free. The pass covers entrance fees to national parks and national wildlife refuge areas and covers day use fees at national forests and grasslands, as well as at lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Reclamation and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
