Writing in Globe St., Paul Bergeron tracks the successes and—mostly—failures of rent control measures in the recent midterm elections. Despite lackluster performance this year, experts expect similar measures to continue reappearing on state ballots.
Among the results: Colorado efforts at passing rent control continue to fail, while Florida continues to ban rent control statewide. In Massachusetts, Boston Mayor Michelle Wu’s push to revoke statewide preemption may get a boost from newly elected Governor Maura Healey.
