After a failed vote last month, the St. Louis County Council voted to move forward with a $128-million infusion into the regional transit system.

The St. Louis County Council voted to approve a $128 million allocation for the region’s Metro Transit agency after the agency pledged to make improvements called for by council members, reports Deion Broxton for KMOV. These include upgrades to the system’s Call-A-Ride scheduling software and ADA compliance.
The agency has been forced to reduce service due to a staffing shortage, supplementing fixed-route service with on-demand service provided by Via for riders with disabilities. “Metro officials said they’re hiring more workers, and riders should expect to see an improvement in the coming months.”
