In June 2024, City Parks Alliance, in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation, will hold the Greater & Greener conference, which will include a mix of indoor sessions and outdoor experiences focusing on urban parks.
Organized by City Parks Alliance, Greater & Greener is a biennial conference dedicated to exploring the full potential of parks as city-building tools. It is a conference for practitioners from government, nonprofits, and communities who are creating more sustainable, vibrant, and equitable cities through the power of parks.
To be held in Seattle, Washington from June 21 to 25, 2024, Greater & Greener will offer an exciting blend of indoor sessions and outdoor experiences focusing on urban parks. The carefully crafted agenda offers opportunities for open, cross-sectoral dialogues with others doing hands-on work. Attendees will be able to gain strategies and tools for using parks to build more sustainable, vibrant, and equitable cities.
The 2024 edition of the conference will feature the following learning tracks:

- Inclusive Parks and Public Spaces
- Equitable and Sustainable Park Funding
- Park, Recreation, Health, and Well-being
Greater & Greener typically draws over 1,000 attendees, including urban park leaders, planning and design professionals, public officials, nonprofits, community-based organizations, advocates, and funders.
Seattle is uniquely positioned to host the conference. Its 6,441-acre park system of more than 489 parks and natural areas comprises about 12% of the city’s land area, including 24 community centers, eight indoor swimming pools, two outdoor swimming pools, three environmental education centers, two small craft centers, four golf courses, an outdoor stadium, and many more facilities.
