The agency says the changes are part of an effort to address its financial crisis and continue delivering “reliable service.”

San Francisco’s Municipal Transportation Agency (Muni) announced service cuts to four popular bus lines, citing an ongoing financial crisis, reports Rachel Swan in the San Francisco Chronicle.
“Cost-saving interventions will also affect the subway system. SFMTA will run one-car trains on the K Ingleside and M Oceanview routes on weekends, aiming to save money on maintenance and cleaning,” Swan adds.
The changes are no surprise to transit officials and advocates who have been anxiously watching budget gaps grow at Muni and peer agencies around the country.
