An already impressive skyline will be gaining some very tall additions by 2023.

An article by AJ LaTrace, supplemented by an illustration by Remie Geoffroi and renderings for each of many new buildings coming, imagines the skyline after what the article calls a "once-in-a-lifetime construction boom."
Six new residential towers will rank among the city of Chicago's 13 tallest buildings, according to LaTrace. The tallest of the bunch: the Tribune Tower addition, designed by Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture, which will reach 1,422 feet. "Among existing buildings nationwide, this glass skyscraper would rank third tallest," explains LaTrace.
