Three different bike share operators are interested in expanding their bike share offerings in the city of Seattle So far, all three are still waiting for the city's permission. "City officials gave varying reasons for pushing back the anticipated expansion date—which, they say, does not represent a delay because no formal date for the expansion was ever announced," Erica C. Barnett reports for Seattle Magazine.

One delay was a request for an environmental analysis under the State Environmental Policy Act, but that hurdle has been cleared. "The city issued a Determination of Non-Significance on the bike share program—meaning that the proposed expansion won’t have a negative impact on the environment—on September 27," Barnett writes. When an expansion will happen is still an open question.
