Traffic and cars play a central role in the social media chatter surrounding the Super Bowl in Atlanta.

We surveyed Twitter for informative and entertaining takes on how the Super Bowl is being received in Atlanta.
Welcome to Atlanta
A few ground rules for Super Bowl LIII visitors:
- We never refer to it as “Hotlanta.”
- We do not pronounce the second t in Atlanta.
- It will always be Coke over Pepsi.
- We already know the traffic sucks.

Remember the MARTA Bus That Interrupted the Georgia Dome Implosion?
While this will be the first Super Bowl for the brand new Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta hosted two Super Bowls in the Georgia Dome, which was destroyed in 2017 to now small amount of fanfare. Making the implosion much more memorable for transit nerds (like me), however, was the MARTA bus that pulled in front of one reporter's shot at the worst possible moment.
Talk about bad timing.
