Mark Belko reports on the expanding scope of development projects in Pittsburgh.

Belko presents the survey of Pittsburgh development project proposals as a kind of post-Strip District Produce Terminal moment. That big development has preoccupied the city's leadership since the beginning of the Peduto mayoral administration in 2014. Now the city and the mayor is turning attention to "construction at the former Civic Arena site, to housing and a better experience near PNC Park, to more growth in the Strip District and beyond." There's also talk about "sprucing up storefronts and bringing more retail to Smithfield Street, Downtown, and even trying to coax the owner of Warner Centre to bring back a movie theater to complement the new Pittsburgh Playhouse on Forbes Avenue."

The article digs into more specifics on a few of the projects and neighborhoods on Peduto's development to-do list for his second term.
