Failed school bond measure forces Folsom Cordova Unified School District to redraw school attendance boundaries to reduce overcrowding
Parents in the Folsom Cordova Unified School district are up in arms over changes in the attendance boundaries enacted by the District Trustees on Tuesday. The boundary changes are forcing some children to attend schools that are older and separate from those of their siblings. Many home owners who had chosen the location of their residence based on the schools their children would be attending now must send their children to schools they would not have chosen. The District Trustees deemed these boundary changes necessary due to the failure of a $38.4 million school bond measure in May and an $18.1 million school bond measure in June, 1999.
