"According to China's National Bureau of Statistics, China's car production from January to May 2003 was 724,200, more than double January-May 2002 production. A Chinese Academy of Engineering and the National Academy of Engineering joint report suggests strategies for developing a Chinese national car and the role of such a car in China's transportation system."
