The Cincinnati City Council this week approved zoning change to allow for the construction of a transit center at the second busiest bus transit hub in the city.
Nick Swartsell reports on progress for the Northside Transit Center project in Cincinnati, which will add shelters and benches at one of the busiest bus transit hubs in the city.
"Neighborhood groups in Northside have been asking for a bus transfer hub near Knowlton's Corner for almost two decades," according to Swartsell. "The area near the bustling intersection is the second-busiest transfer location in the city behind downtown's Government Square, according to the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority, with routes 15X, 16, 17, 19, 20, 23X, 27 and 51 all flowing through the area."
The Cincinnati City Council voted April 17 to approve zoning changes necessary for the station improvements. Previously, the city acquired adjacent land for the project.
