"Metro planners are looking at developing a new zoning district that would make it easier for developers to create traditional neighborhoods...Currently it takes up to six months longer to plan for a development incorporating new urbanism than it does to plan a traditional development...Planners and developers in Nashville use the transect, a planning tool that consists of six zones (T1-T6) — natural zone, rural zone, suburban zone, general urban zone, urban center zone and urban core zone — and an assigned district that serves for industries, universities, airports, etc."
