The National Trust for Historic Preservation has released an annual list of endangered historic places since 1988, identifying over 300 places and losing only a handful along the way.

"The 2019 list includes a diverse mix of historic places across America facing a range of challenges and threats, from deferred maintenance to inappropriate development proposals to devastation wrought by natural disasters," according to the National Trust's website.

Here's the list in full, with a lot more focus, details, and editorial coverage of the list available on the National Trust's website.

  • Tenth Street Historic District, Dallas, Texas
  • Music Row, Nashville, Tennessee
  • James R. Thompson Center, Chicago, Illinois
  • Bismark-Mandan Rail Bridge, Bismark, North Dakota
  • Industrial Trust Company Building, Providence, Rhode Island
  • Ancestral Places of Southeast, Utah
  • The Excelsior Club, Charlotte, North Carolina
  • National Mall Tidal Basin, Washington, D.C.
  • Hacienda Los Torres, Lares, Puerto Rico
  • Willert Park Courts, Buffalo, New York
  • Mount Vernon Arsenal and Searcy Hospital, Mount Vernon, Alabama

For local coverage of the 2019 list, Chicago Tribune architecture critic and Pulitzer Prize winner Blair Kamin writes about the James R. Thompson Center today, detailing the history, architectural significance, and current threat facing the building.
