Don't Let 'Sprawl-Marts' Kill Our Communities

When will land use planning emerge from under the bootheel of moneygrubbing corporatists so the public's interests can stand on equal footing with those of the corporate 'persons' devouring their communities?...Strong communities are diverse, and held together by many locally owned small businesses which serve as the sinews of a strong economy. "Big box" supercenters are nothing less than cancerous tumors to such communities that eat them away from within leaving little but an empty husk where blue plastic bags blow about and Styrofoam popcorn chokes sewers draining asphalt deserts."
