San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer has proposed his latest in a series of pro-development policy proposals.

"San Diego would wipe out height limits for apartment and condominium projects built near transit lines under a new proposal from Mayor Kevin Faulconer that aims to help solve the city’s housing crisis," according to an article by David Garrick.
"Faulconer said the proposal would spur construction of more housing, especially housing for middle-income residents, by allowing taller buildings with smaller-sized units and then streamlining the approval process for such projects," writes Garrick.
Alison St John and Brooke Ruth provide follow-up coverage of the proposal, speaking with San Diego Planning Director Mike Hansen.
Previously, Mayor Faulconer proposed major reform of parking requirements, as eventually approved by the City Council in March, and discussed ending height limits near transit nodes back in January 2019.
