"The B.C. transit authority [TransLink] announced Wednesday that it had been awarded the 2019 Outstanding Public Transportation System Achievement Award," reports Stephanie Ip.

The APTA awarded TransLink with the honor based on criteria that include "ridership growth, operational efficiency, maintenance initiatives, customer service, financial management, marketing and sustainability," explains Ip.

Writing in a separate article with commentary on the announcement, Elana Shepert reports that many locals were surprised by the news, and wondered about what kind of standard is set by every other transit systems on the continent if TransLink is the best fo the bunch.
