Traffic safety advocates are hoping that a $32 million street redesign project on Brighton Boulevard can provide a model for other wide arterials in the city.
David Sachs reports on the results of a dramatic street redesign effort on Brighton Boulevard between 29th and 44th streets in Denver, which opened in June 2018.
"Prior to the massive, $32.1 million reconstruction of the street that finished last year, you’d be lucky to find a sidewalk on the thoroughfare, let alone 2.6 miles of walkways and bikeways," according to Sachs.
In addition to the new complete streets infrastructure, another conspicuous change has come to Brighton Boulevard, according to the article: more pedestrians and people on bikes.
