A large affordable housing development will be built on the former site of a hospital in the Rockaway Peninsula neighborhood of Queens.
"The [New York] City Council has given the OK for a Queens development that will mark the largest private construction of affordable housing under the de Blasio administration," reports Ryan Deffenbaugh.
"Arker Cos.—the developer—plans to start construction next year on Edgemere Commons, which will bring 2,050 units of rent-controlled housing to the former Peninsula Hospital site in Edgemere," adds Deffenbaugh.
