"Channeling road rage -- and images of portable blue bathrooms -- into art, Brock created a series of watercolor paintings both humorous and politically charged that depict the roadwork in front of her home and those of her neighbors on Main Street."They are sort of therapy for people living under these conditions," she said, talking over the crunch of earth movers a few yards from the Pangburn gallery at 190 Maple Ave.Her five large pictures in a one-woman show called "Altamont Under Siege" went up Tuesday and will stay through Aug. 22. "I can't tell you how many opportunities there are for humorous paintings," Brock said. For example, Tuesday morning she said she took note of a portable toilet below the wings of an angel statue on Maple Avenue, not far from the gallery."
