The Federal Communications Commission announced a new 5G Fund this week.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) announced a new $9 billion fund to help roll out 5G wireless service in rural parts of the country, reports Jason Plautz.
"The 5G Fund will be distributed through a reverse auction and will target areas with difficult terrain or sparse populations," adds Plautz. "The FCC will set aside at least $1 billion for projects facilitating precision agriculture."
The new 5G Fund will replace the existing Mobility Fund Phase II.
