A developer has changed its mind about a plan to bring a soccer stadium and convention center to the city of Concord in the East San Francisco Bay Area.

"A downtown soccer stadium, convention center and new hotels and housing won’t be coming to downtown Concord [in the East San Francisco Bay Area] anytime in the foreseeable future, and the coronavirus is one of the reasons," reports Rick Hurd.
Developer Hall Equities Group "is declining to move forward with the project approved by the city council two years ago," according to Hurd, after questioning the viability of the market in light of the economic effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
The city still hopes that the land in question is ripe for development, given its vacant status and its proximity to the Concord BART station.
