Leadership change is coming to one of the best local sources of planning news in the country, after Greater Greater Washington founder and executive director David Alpert announced plans to move on.

One of the great things about working at Planetizen is the opportunity to regularly check in with so many great journalists and websites working around the country. Throughout my six-plus years of working here, Greater Greater Washington has been one of the most consistently hard working and insightful sites for local planning and development news, thanks, in part, to the hard work and dedication of the organization's founder and executive director, David Alpert.
Alpert wrote a blog post explaining the imminent departure and the plans for the future of the site. Please click through to read the entire post, and with that, Planetizen sends heartfelt thanks and best wishes for the future to David.
