The nonprofit group, New Schools / Better Neighborhoods held a Conference in June, 2000 in Los Angeles in an attempt to bring together the stakeholders involved in the revitalization and redevelopment of the much-debated Ambassador Hotel as a site for a school for the Los Angeles Unified School District. Participants -- including the developer, residents, and LAUSD -- share their view of the "true" issues and define ways of expediting the current process. The Planning Report excerpts responses to the issues and process involved in constructing a school on the Ambassador site. Excerpts include O'Malley Miller, John Early, Harold Williams, and Ken Bernstein.
