Kermit Baker, Chief Economist for the American Institute of Architects (AIA), discusses the outlook for the construction industry based on forecasts by the AIA Consensus Construction Forecast Panel. "All of the panelists expect the construction expansion to continue through this year, and most expect at least a little more growth next year" but the slowdown still hasn't reached its lowest point.Corporate investment has fueled the recent increases in construction spending with U.S. corporations investing profits in improving and expanding facilities.
