Porter Ranch requests and receives approval for scaled-back development from Los Angeles Planning Commisssion.
Reflecting a change in the real estate market, Porter Ranch Development Co. dropped it's ambitious plans for the largest undeveloped site in the Valley. The 1,300-acre site was originally planned for 6 million square feet of office space and 3,300 housing units. The new, approved plan calls for cutting commercial space in half and construction of retail rather than office space. The plan must still be heard by the Planning and Land Use Management Committee and the Los Angeles City Council.
