Sacramento Votes For Flood Assessment

Sacramento property owners vote for largest flood control project since Fulsom dam.

An overwhelming 82% of Sacramento voters have agreed to assess themselves $35 million as part of a $235 million federal, state and local project focused on improvements to Folsom Dam. The project will begin in June, 2001, and involves widening the lower outlets of Folsom Dam so that more water can be released when storms hit the region.
